I had to redo my computer and now all of a sudden i have problen crashing. If you remade the computer you probably lost the update. There is a bug but Adobe fixed it many years ago. I did install the update and that seems to have cured the problem. Leave it up to Billy to mess things up. After trying all sorts of other things, the update worked for me.
The app stayed open just long enough for me to click the update link. It worked for a while. Never had trouble on the older machine. Thanks to the suggestions in this thread 1 installing the updater; 2 turning off the Internet connection; and finally 3 running in compatibility mode, it is now working again.
